About twelve miles of sea from the northern coast of Gargano, there are three major islands and a number of rock formations that make up the archipelago of the Tremiti Islands. These islands are better known for their beauty, “The Pearls of the Adriatic. The Archipelago consists of the islands of San Nicola, San Domino, Capraia, Pianosa, Cretaccio and La Vecchia.
The Tremiti Islands are a protected marine reserve, and, with their unique environment, amid the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea, are the habitat of a wealth of marine life. The most famous beach is Cala delle Arene then Cala Matano that descends to the sea, Cala degli Inglesi and Cala Tonda similar to a small lake. The particular clarity of the water makes It possible to fully enjoy the sea landscape. Do not miss the sea caves of the Amore or Sorrentino, Turchese, Grottone dei Misteri and Architiello.
